County seeks public input on future parks, services

SAN DIEGO – The County of San Diego’s Department of Parks and Recreation is holding a community meeting in Fallbrook on Thursday, July 1 at 6 p.m. to hear from residents about what kind of county parks they want. The meeting will be at the Fallbrook Community Center, 341 Heald Lane.

The County has hired a consultant, GreenPlay LLC, to do a study to determine what kinds of Park and Recreation services will be offered in unincorporated communities and what kinds of fees could support them.

Getting community input is essential, said County Parks and Recreation Director Brian Albright. “Our residents’ thoughts and opinions are very important to us,” Albright said. “They know their communities better than anyone and we want to make sure they get the chance to tell us what kinds of parks they want as we move forward.”

Free refreshments will be provided. For more information about the study or the meetings, call Karon Badalamenti at GreenPlay LLC at (303) 870-0021.
