Quilted masterpiece to raise funds for new church

FALLBROOK – Local resident Beverly King combined her love of peacocks, her Celtic (Scottish) heritage and her love of church over a four year period to design and fabricate a 67” x 77” artistic quilt appropriately named “Feathers in My Garden.”

The peacock is often used to symbolize immortality, resurrection or renewal. The endless Celtic knot used in the hand needlework on the quilt is the Trinity knot, which can symbolize three planes of existence: mind, body and spirit, or God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

King has donated this masterpiece to the third love of this project, Christ Church Fallbrook. To benefit the church’s modular building project for a new sanctuary, church members are selling raffle tickets ($1 each/$5 for six) for a chance to win this timeless artwork.

Tickets may be purchased at Christ Church’s office at 2000 Reche Road, between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Monday through Friday, (760) 728-2007. The drawing for the quilt will be held on Dec. 12, and the winner need not be present to win.
