Car Club holds Turkey Shoot and Poker Run

FALLBROOK – Saturday, Nov. 13, was set as this year’s day to do the Fallbrook Vintage Car Club’s annual Turkey Shoot and Poker Run. It was a picture-perfect day with lots of sunshine, warm temperatures and top-down conditions. As usual, club members John Waugh, Marv Van Voorst and Glen Patterson set the course and rules of the road.

This year’s event was done with a record 25 cars and 54 club participants. Doing the run was everything from a vintage pick up truck to a Dodge Viper. The start site was the Fallbrook Public Utilities District office off Mission Road. The first car left at 9:30 sharp.

As usual, the guys had designed a very scenic run of about 30 miles with six

different locations to pick up the players’ cards. They included stops on the outskirts of Fallbrook as well as several on Old 395. At the end of the run drivers were instructed to go to Dalton’s Road House Restaurant in San Marcos for the awards ceremony.

The last person arrived there around noon where they all shared a favorite beverage and some lunch. It was a great social event as always.

Prize winners for the event were as follows.
