Reality Rally raises breast cancer resource funds for foundation

A fundraiser for a breast cancer resource center in Murrieta had reality television stars racing through the southwest Riverside County area on a “Fun for Funds” scavenger hunt.

Reality Rally was held last Saturday in Temecula as a benefit for Michelle’s Place, a nonprofit that supports those living with breast cancer concerns.

The million dollar question on everyone’s mind according to Kim Goodough, executive director of Michelle’s Place, is how much money Reality Rally raised for the breast cancer resource foundation.

“We’re still getting all the invoices and expenses together,” she said in a Wednesday phone interview. “I hesitate on guessing at this point.”

Goodnough said they should know by early next week how much money the event raised.

“Being the first year putting on the event, it’s hard to make a lot of money, but with an event with this kind of magnitude, the three days with the reception, challenge, and everything, the exposure was great,” she said. “We received so much amazing feedback, and so many people wanting to help.”

Last Friday, a celebrity reception was held at Wilson Creek Winery. Saturday was the race, beginning at Temecula Civic Center in Old Town. Saturday night the Reality Rally Pit Party was held at the Temeku Hills Country Club.

On Sunday, Breakfast with the Stars was held at Monte De Oro Winery.

Reality Rally was dreamed up by past “Survivor” star Gillian Larson.

“I thought my excitement could never be matched when I made it on ‘Survivor’ after eight years of trying,” she said. “I am equally if not more excited to announce the launch and birth of Reality Rally after two years of creating it and five months of planning it with an amazing Reality Rally management team. Reality Rally 2011 winners are:

• First place – Team Nguyen-It-Ha with Kendra Guffey of “Pirate Master”

• Second place – Team Nat with Nat Strand of “The Amazing Race”

• Third place – California Canines with Brook Roberts of “The Amazing Race”
