Single-vehicle collision and DUI arrest in Lake Elsinore

On Sunday, April 17, about 1 a.m., officers were dispatched to a single vehicle roll-over traffic collision located at the intersection of Grand Avenue and Wesley Street.

The driver, identified as Hernan Menchaca, 19, of Murrieta, was found trapped inside the vehicle. Fire personnel had to extricate Hernan from the vehicle. He was transported to a local hospital.

Preliminary investigation indicates Hernan was driving south on Grand Avenue at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle.

The vehicle rolled over and collided with a utility pole. Alcohol appears to be a factor in the collision.

The Wildomar Police Department is conducting an ongoing investigation into the collision.
