NCL holds successful canned food drive

FALLBROOK – Members of the San Luis Rey Chapter of National Charity League (NCL) continue to be active in the community by recently completing a successful canned food drive called We Can. An organization for mothers (patronesses) and daughters (Ticktockers), NCL focuses on fostering the mother-daughter spirit and performing a wide variety of community service.

Ticktockers in all grade levels, seventh through 12th, collected a total of 1,620 cans of food, which they donated to the Fallbrook Food Pantry.

The girls went shopping with their moms looking for deals, stood outside supermarkets and even asked friends, family and neighbors in an effort to collect the most cans for their grade level. The winner was the Fallbrook Food Pantry and the families that benefit from that resource.

NCL members also volunteer at the Fallbrook Senior Center, REINS, Angel Shop, Arts in the Park, the Don Dornan Games, and more.

Ticktockers recently attended an event with national inspirational speaker Abigail Mueller. At this event, the girls learned how to create vision boards, prioritize goals, increase confidence, and develop affirmations to make their visions a reality.
