Driver dies in early morning De Luz crash

The driver of a small sedan died early Saturday, May 2 after flipping over on a mountain road, it was reported.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the driver lost control and crashed just before 4:15 a.m. about a half mile north of Carancho Road on Los Gatos Road in De Luz, an unincorporated community west of Temecula and north of Fallbrook.

At 5:06 a.m., CHP requested the Riverside County Coroner's Office to respond to the scene and take custody of the unidentified victim's body.

As of press time, the crash is still under investigation by CHP to determine what caused the driver to crash and suffer fatal injuries.

Emergency crews and investigators are expected to remain on scene into the daylight hours investigating the crash and removing the vehicle.
