The Bonsall Chamber of Commerce held its 15th Annual Fall Festival at Bonsall River Village Oct. 23. This festival brought various kinds of booths to the community of Bonsall along with live music.

In the past, the festival also gave families the opportunity to bring their kids and do a costume contest and pumpkin decorating. However, that has changed in the last couple years.

"I think the difference is we used to have a kids area and we had games and a bunch of different things and we just haven't had the youth groups to be able to run that,..," Chamber Executive Director Ruthie Harris said.

Even though things have changed, the Fall Festival still brings the excitement of vendors from outside Bonsall to join in the festivities of fall.

Vendor Jennifer Depoy said that she loved it because she loved the "small town kinda feel." She added that she signed up for this event because "it's just a different area cause I do most of my stuff in San Diego proper kinda so it was nice to just get out of San Diego for a little bit and try a different area..."

This fall festival brings new people with different stories and experiences to Bonsall. One vendor at the Bonsall Fall Festival presents her artwork as a way to express therapy.

According to artist Darla Mulder's website, "Just the mere act of working on art helped her as she volunteered for nine years with the City's Trauma Support Group before TIPS in 2018 took the area. This spree was instrumental for Darla. She was being reminded of the fact that ALL life is indeed precious and fleeting. Tough time."

From jewelry booths to Halloween decorations, the festival offered a variety of items for sale and gave individuals a time to connect with others from Bonsall and enjoy a fun event.
