  • Resurrection People

    Updated Apr 3, 2008

If you’re anything like me, you have a hard time keeping track of when Easter falls from year to year. Some years it’s at the end of April – and then others it gets packed in with Saint Patrick’s Day! Making it even more confusing, in other parts of the world Christians follow a totally different schedule altogether. I discovered this some years back when I celebrated Easter twice in the same year – once here in the United States, and then seven days later in Eastern Europe. Christians there follow the Orthodox calendar...

  • A people set apart

    Updated Apr 3, 2008

My son Chris and I always go to Sunrise service on Easter. It’s our tradition and we love it. No squeezing into overstuffed Easter pews, we relish the fresh outdoors and heart-filled, crispy cool worship. This year was perfect as Fr. Bud soaked us with holy water, scripture and profound thoughts as the sun crested over the trees and broke light on a gorgeous day! Home again, I slipped into a warm fuzzy blanket and some contemplative time with our Lord, as my son thawed out in the shower. I couldn’t help but ponder, “Re...

Moments later, the driver of the pickup lays face down on the ground and his fleeing companion struggles in the jaws of a canine police officer. Kevin McGuire and Carolina Dvorak watch wide-eyed along with other Fallbrook high...

Such a resolution is likely in the case of three Rainbow community representatives who expressed concern about unpermitted commercial signs along Interstate 15 during the supervisors’ March 26 meeting. Because...
