Six from Pendleton receive awards

At a combined meeting of the Oceanside and Fallbrook Rotary Clubs, a number of servicepeople from Camp Pendleton were given awards at Fallbrook’s Grand Tradition on Monday, Feb. 7.

Based on their commanding officers’ commendations, five servicemen and one servicewoman were recognized for their outstanding performances and received plaques to commemorate this special occasion.

Rotary President Elaine Noftz of the Fallbrook Rotary and Oceanside President Father Michel Gagnon jointly made the presentations, along with the commanding officers who were present for the ceremony. As each award was announced, the crowded room of Rotarians and guests showed their appreciation for the continuing outstanding work that our armed forces provide.

Receiving the awards were Sgt. Bryan Alfaro, Outstanding Marine NCO of the Year; Cpl.
