Blood Bank goes to bat for dedicated donors

All San Diego Blood Bank donors who give blood through Sunday, March 25, will have the chance to enter a drawing to win a pair of tickets to the Padres Opening Night game at Petco Park on Friday, April 6.

The winning donor’s name will be drawn and the winner notified on Monday, March 26. Anyone who donates on a Bloodmobile or at one of the Blood Bank’s six donor centers will be eligible.

“We know how excited everyone is about the Padres season this year and we’re thrilled to be able to offer our donors a chance to see the very first home game,” said Lynn Stedd, Blood Bank spokesperson.

Blood donors are also encouraged to join the Bood Bank’s new Donor Difference loyalty program, where members are entitled to great new benefits, including the ability to track their total cholesterol, blood pressure and pulse. Members will also earn points for each donation that can be redeemed at the Blood Bank’s new online store.

Anyone who is at least 17 years old, in generally good health and weighs at least 110 pounds may qualify to donate blood. To make an appointment or for more information about the San Diego Blood Bank, call 1-800-4MY-SDBB or visit http://www.sandiegobloodbank.org.
