Rotary hears about Ivy High garden project

Rotary President Paul Leehey (left) thanks Ivy High School teacher Sheri Ryan for her presentation at a recent Rotary meeting. Ryan is responsible for Ivy’s “hands-on” organic garden in which students participate in all phases of gardening, from preparing soil and germinating seeds to harvesting. The students get to share in “the fruits of their labors,” said Ryan, by taking home the produce they grow. The program is currently being expanded to other schools in the community.
