Albertsons doesn't deserve raspberry

The opinion piece regarding Albertsons’ actions during the fire [“Kudos to Major Market, raspberries to Albertsons,” 11/22/07] differs entirely from our experience.

As volunteers with the San Diego County Sheriff’s Dept. during the fires, we had firsthand knowledge that Albertsons provided water, food, juices, lip balms, sunscreen, lotions, Starbucks coffee and other necessary supplies to support law enforcement and military personnel assigned to the fires.

Not only did they donate the supplies, they delivered them to the Sheriff’s Substation; all we had to do was give them a call.

In addition, we had friends who parked their RV in Albertsons parking lot and during their stay, Albertsons provided water, coffee, juice, milk, donuts, snacks, etc. to those who were parked in their lot at no charge! They even picked up their trash.

Thank you, Albertsons, for showing us the “good side” of corporate America. We are happy to have you in our community.

Kudos to Albertsons!
