Nominate a nurse for Patients' Choice award

Fallbrook, CA – Once again, the Patient Choice Award will recognize the quality care, comfort and compassion offered by the nurses at Fallbrook Hospital, honoring one nurse in particular. Continuing the tradition of the last few years, this program, which solicits input from the community, will culminate with one nurse at Fallbrook Hospital receiving the Patient Choice Award during Nurses’ Week, May 6 through May 12.

Why would Fallbrook Hospital be asking former patients to be so involved in spotlighting an exceptional nurse, rather than making the choice internally?

“Sometimes it’s just too hard to spot one nurse when there are so many nurses in our hospital doing such an incredible job caring for our patients,” says Janet Colvard, Chief Nursing Officer for Fallbrook Hospital. “That’s why we are asking patients to help us make the choice. They see the little things that matter so much on a very personal level.”

So, anyone who has come to Fallbrook Hospital for inpatient, outpatient or emergency care, or to visit a relative there, in the last year and has a nurse he or she would like to thank for going the extra mile, shouldn’t miss this chance. Nominations for the 2008 Patient Choice Award will be accepted until April 30. To nominate a nurse, former patients or visitors can send the nurse’s name and a few paragraphs explaining the nomination, along with their own name (and the name of the patient), address, and phone number.

Be sure to e-mail, mail or fax the nomination by April 30. Email nominations to [email protected] or mail to Monique Murphy-Mijares, Marketing Director, Fallbrook Hospital, 624 E. Elder Street, Fallbrook, CA 92028, Fax: (760) 728-0683.
