RE: 'Were we at the same meeting?' (Letter, Village News, 7/17/08)

(Letter, Village News, 7/17/08)

I have been reading the opinion page for the past few weeks pertaining to the FPUD board meeting of June 30. I was present and in my opinion the letter that Darlene Dakovich wrote is correct.

I heard what she heard not once but several times and Archie McPhee missed a few points on the Orange Grove Energy Plant. FPUD will not supply any potable water to the plant in stage one, which we are in now, nor stage two or any stage after that – only reclaimed water that now is in excess and going to the ocean. The plant is paying a huge sum of money for this contract and they will pay for the water and truck it to their plant.

It seems to me to be a good business deal to get some income to keep our water rates lower. Maybe one who has so much energy should be directing their efforts to their Congressman and the Governor to solve this crisis on water, which is only getting critical. Stage two is just around the corner.
