Seventh-grader completes Eagle Scout project

FALLBROOK — Brian Arnold, a seventh-grader at Potter Jr. High, completed his Boy Scout Eagle project on October 18.

He is a member of Troop #725, which is sponsored by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. His project was to build five raised planter beds at the new Fallbrook Community Gardens on Alturas Road.

These gardens were just dedicated on October 29 and will soon be open to the public.

While building to garden beds, Brian had help from his family, other scouts and his leaders. He raised his funds from donations from Tony de Garate (a man whose girlfriend Brian helped save from heatstroke while hiking in June of this year), from Dr. Kenneth Whitworth and from selling brownies to members of his church.
