Judith Ann 'Judy' Norris (Desmarais)

Judith Ann ‘Judy’ Norris (Desmarais), loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully at her home in Fallbrook, surrounded by loved ones, after a long, courageous and hard-fought battle with cancer.

Judy was born in Lawrence, MA, on April 29, 1943. She was a graduate of Lawrence High School, Class of 1961.

She married husband Russell in 1964 in New York City. Judy attended the University of Maryland and then decided to raise a family. They relocated to Canyon Country, CA, where they lived for 30 years.

Judy received her RN degree from Los Angeles Valley College and her Registered Nurse Practitioner degree from California State University, Los Angeles. She worked for Kaiser Permanente for more than 20 years, both as an RN and as an RNP in the OB/GYN department.

Judy was a published author and editor for a newsletter dedicated to the transitional issues of menopause. She received many awards, including the prestigious Jane Setterberg award for outstanding health care provider.

In 2001, Judy and Russ moved to Fallbrook, where they have enjoyed the companionship of many wonderful friends. Judy was an active member of the Fallbrook Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, traveling, biking with friends, playing golf and tennis and knitting.

Judy will be remembered for her intense love of life, her courage and strength, her deep love for her family and friends and her love of God. We all will miss her dearly.

Judy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Russell; son Stanley Pelczar (wife Nancy); daughters Jennifer Pascucci (husband Dan) and Jessica Kunze (husband Karl); and grandchildren Kyle, Katelyn, Casey, Samantha, Paige, Donato and Gianni.

A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 8, at Fallbrook Presbyterian Church.
