Fallbrook Family Support League Mah-Jong tournament a success

FALLBROOK – The Fallbrook Family Support League held its annual Mah-Jong Tournament on Friday, May 7, at Fallbrook Public Utility District. There were a total of 64 players, or 16 tables. The funds from this tournament provide counseling services for local school children and military families on a pay-as-you-are-able or free basis.

Barbara Loehnert was the high score first place winner, with Carol Gaynor running a very close second place, which gave them the first and second picks from the donated prize table.

Joy Williams, in a fancy hat, handled the raffle for more than two dozen terrific raffle prizes, donated from wonderful local businesses.

A light lunch was provided and for dessert, a surprise birthday cake was served in honor of Araxy Moosa, who they said “tirelessly organizes all the mah-jong tournaments in Fallbrook.”

Members of the Fallbrook Family Support League said they were thankful for all the player participants, prize/raffle donors, and the great helpers that supported the fun and worthy event.
