Fallbrook Alumni Assoc. picnic is this Sunday

FALLBROOK – Fallbrook alums can meet up with old friends and make new ones at the Fallbrook Alumni Association’s annual Picnic and Vintage Car Show. They can bring their lunch and a favorite vehicle to show off (if they have one) to Live Oak Park on Sunday, August 1 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

This event also includes the annual Backpack Buddy Project. There will be 75 backpacks and all the supplies to fill them laid out for easy assembly. In past years, the FHS alumni have made quick work of this worthwhile project as they placed the loaded backpacks into a pickup truck for delivery to Fallbrook High School on Monday morning.

It’s great that so many are willing to give back to their alma mater. The time and money invested in this project is greatly appreciated by the recipients due to the difficult economy.

Anyone interested in donating to the Backpack Buddy Project or those that would like additional information should contact either Bill Hansen (760) 723-9817 or Jan Mahr Owen (760) 645-0101. Anyone who has a special vehicle to display should call to RSVP a spot.

Attendees should bring their own picnic, special vehicle, and memories. Some alumni use this occasion to invite their classmates for a little gathering of friends. This is the time, place, and opportunity to do so.
