Sgt. John McBroom passes away; service to be held Thursday

The following obituary has been posted early to the Village News website because the service for this well-known citizen and former Sheriff's Dept. sergeant will take place the same day the newspaper is distributed.

John Morgan McBroom has been called up to his Heavenly Father at the age of 66. John passed away on Oct. 21, 2010 at 2:45 p.m. in Palomar Hospital, Escondido surrounded by his family. In his final hour he gave selflessly his permission to donate vital organs to save others. So far he has successfully given continued life to a liver recipient.
