Artists design wine labels for the perfect gift

FALLBROOK – Artists Kait Matthews of Vista and Gabriele Bitter of Temecula won a contest organized by Fallbrook Arts, Inc. for original artwork to be used as wine labels.

The promotion, aptly named Art of the Vine, resulted in Bitter’s artwork entitled ‘Red Square’ and Matthews’ art called ‘Fallbrook Vineyard Frolic’ being selected to match two of Fallbrook Winery’s top wines – its 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon and 2010 Chardonnay respectively.

Both artists will be on hand at the Fallbrook Art Center to sign wine bottles that are purchased at Café des Artistes on Dec. 15 during the Customer Appreciation Day, being held by the Historic Downtown Merchants Association. These bottles of wine, which make great gifts during the holidays, may also be purchased at Major Market.

A portion of the proceeds from wine sales will support Fallbrook Arts, Inc., a non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating and sustaining the arts community.
