Young people ages 15 to 21 can learn about becoming an Explorer with California Highway Patrol

OCEANSIDE - Young people between the ages of 15 and 21 that have an interest in learning about becoming an Explorer with the California Highway Patrol are invited to an informational open house on Thursday, Nov. 29, 6 p.m. at the Oceanside CHP office.

The Explorer program offers qualified young adults an opportunity to experience a career in law enforcement by working side-by-side with officers.

Minimum requirements to become a CHP explorer include: age 15 - 21 years, minimum "C" (2.0) grade point average, no drug or alcohol use, no felony convictions, and good citizenship.

The California Highway Patrol office is located at 1888 Oceanside Blvd., Oceanside, Calif. 92054.
