Members of Boys & Girls Clubs of North County are gifted with new shoes

FALLBROOK – The Boys & Girls Clubs of North County received a grant for 100 $20 gift cards from Payless Shoe Source, allowing the organization an opportunity to purchase new shoes for club members during this holiday season. The vouchers were divided up amongst the local sites in Fallbrook and passed along to the kids to pick out a new pair of shoes under $20. The children began having the opportunity to pick out shoes on Dec. 12.

“This is such a wonderful holiday experience for the kids,” said Lisa Ware, director of operations for the club. “Shoes can be such an expense for families as children’s feet grow so quickly.”

“Our first group of kids from our W.H. Frazier site had such a great time,” she continued. “The kids knew they only had $20 to spend, so they were very careful picking out shoes that stayed within their budget.”

The Boys & Girls Club’s mission is to “enable all young people, especially those who need them most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.”
