Locals help welcome Sgt. Eric Seaman home

Thousands of people gathered on overpasses and lined the streets early in the evening on Wednesday, June 10 to welcome USMC Sgt. Eric M. Seaman home to Murrieta one final time.

Seaman, who was killed in a helicopter crash in May while on a humanitarian mission in Nepal, was escorted from San Diego by hundreds of motorists, including members of the Patriot Guard Riders, police, firefighters, Marines and everyday citizens.

As the procession made it’s way to Murrieta Valley Funeral Home on Washington Avenue the crowd waved flags in support of the family and in honor of the fallen hero.

A service for Seaman will be held on Friday, June 12, beginning at 10 a.m., at Lake Elsinore Storm Stadium located at 500 Diamond Drive in Lake Elsinore.

According to an obituary posted on http://www.murrietavalleyfuneralhome.com, Seaman is survived by his wife, Samantha; son, Roman; daughter, Ryleigh; parents, Cheryl and Bruce and “the massive extended family that Eric’s good nature brought in.”
