Heavy rain leads to water breaks, outages in Fallbrook; Main Ave. closed at W. Aviation Rd.; Trupiano's Italian restaurant is open and operating

Several locations in the Fallbrook area have experienced flooding and water outages today. Reports of the water outages and flooding have been fielded by Fallbrook Public Utility District (FPUD), who has advised residents they have had to shut off water valves in certain spots.

According to spokeswoman Noelle Denke, the reasons the outages are in place is because the water-soaked soil has sunk under old pipes and the shift caused pipe joints to break in the following locations. It has caused restricted road access in certain areas.

The following locations are affected:

*Via Ranchitos off Santa Margarita

*Via de Gavilan by Sandia Creek and Rock Mountain Rd.

*West Aviation Road at South Main Ave. (Trupiano's Italian Restaurant is open and operating; parking lot can be accessed by driving southbound on Main Ave.)

*N. Stage Coach Lane at Vista Del Lago and Mil Sorpresas;

*Burma and Olive Hill along with Futurity Lane, Lake Ridge Road, and White Horse Lane;

According to Denke, all breaks occurred within a five-mile radius and within six hours this morning. She said crews are still evaluating each site and will be working through the night to do the repairs.

UPDATES:

Work has been completed at Burma Hill and Olive Hill Rd.; crews were putting water back in the pipes as of 1:20 p.m. so nearby residents should have received water shortly after that.

Denke has now said that work had been completed at the North Stage Coach Lane and crews were on their way to return water to that area.

Updates will be posted as they come in.
