Save Our Forest never lets a good tree go to waste

Volunteers assess and replace trees in above-ground containers periodically due to significant growth.

FALLBROOK – In recent efforts of Save Our Forest/Fallbrook Land Conservancy to maintain the goal of creating a pedestrian-friendly atmosphere in downtown Fallbrook, it became necessary to remove and replace some trees.

According to Jackie Heyneman, above-ground containers required due to under the sidewalk sewer lines in the heart of downtown resulted in a major transfer.

“The trees that had outgrown their pots are now planted in the ground adjacent to the parking lot between Fig and Alvarado Streets, just west of Main Ave.,” explained Heyneman. “Scott Harry of Karn’s Survey...
