La Caseta to receive 'First in Fallbrook' award

FALLBROOK — La Caseta, the popular Mexican restaurant in downtown Fallbrook, received the “First in Fallbrook” award in a special ceremony sponsored by Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green (KFCG) on June 22. La Caseta was honored for being the first local restaurant to embrace the new Green Business Program launched by the County of San Diego. Being a “green” restaurant means implementing a recycling program, conserving energy and water and reducing the amount of solid waste materials that end up in our landfills.

On hand for the special ceremony, sponsored by Keep Fallbrook Clean and Green, was KariLyn Merlos, Pollution Prevention Specialist from the county’s Department of Environmental Health, and KFCG members Jedda Lorek, Ali Nusbaum, Cathy Plocki, Manny Ortega, Richard Taylor and Anne Burdick.
