AAUW welcomes new members at brunch

A champagne brunch will welcome new, prospective and current members of the Fallbrook Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW). The membership event will take place Saturday, September 9, at 10 a.m. at the home of Chris Young located in Champagne Crest, 2568 Dos Lomas.

AAUW has several special interest groups and the chairpersons of these groups will discuss plans for the year and encourage signups. In addition, President Sherry Ludwig will address the group and sum up the accomplishments AAUW has had over the past year and the goals ahead for 2006-07.

At the last National Convention in May the general membership voted to welcome new members with an AA degree or equivalent. A four-year degree from an accredited college or university was the historical requirement set by the founding members in 1888. The mission of AAUW is to promote equality for all women and girls, lifelong education and positive societal change.
