River painting on display

At the request of the Fallbrook Village Association, local artist Jack Ragland’s painting “The Santa Margarita River: the Last Free-Flowing River in Southern California” is now on display in the Art Center at Fallbrook.

Ragland created the painting because of his concern about the (proposed) “Liberty” quarry and the potential threat to the river as well as wildlife and the Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve.

The painting will be donated to the newly formed anti-quarry group Fallbrook Political Action Committee and will be auctioned off later in the fall. The money raised will go the help the Temecula in their annexation efforts.
