Rainbow collecting items for Marines

Rainbow community volunteers Maureen Small and Jonnie Fox Flanagan are organizing an effort to send much-needed supplies to a local squadron serving in Iraq.

The goal is to get items from their requested list along with “fun stuff” to be wrapped in Christmas paper as gifts for them. They hope to help more than 240 US Marines have as happy a holiday season as can be expected under the circumstances.

For a list of supplies being sought, visit http://www.anymarine.com. Unfortunately, no “homemade” products can be sent. There are certain prohibited items as well.

Donations can be dropped off at the Rainbow Grange, 2160 Rainbow Valley Boulevard, on Sunday, November 4, from 8 a.m. to noon.
