Bonsall students 'Stand Up, Stand Out'

Four members of the Sullivan unit of the Boys & Girls Clubs of North County were privileged to attend the Taco Bell Leadership Conference January 25-26 at Camp Cedar Glen in Julian.

As a team, Ray Castillo, Kaelyn Cambio, Vanessa Kash and Alyssa Burtzos worked together on a ROPES course, where they had to get all of their team members over a 10-foot wall using only their bodies and the wall.

They also worked together to do rock climbing and a low tight wire course. In between these physical team building activities, they attended workshops designed to teach them what makes them unique and why that is so important.

This all tied in to the conference theme of “Stand Up, Stand Out,” helping the students to realize that as leaders, they should not be afraid of being unique and being recognized for it.
