Fallbrook Woman's Club wins at Art Festival

Members of the Fallbrook Woman’s Club competed in the annual Palomar District fine arts and crafts festival on February 27, 2008 and won ribbons in several events. The festival encompasses all clubs in Palomar District #24 and was held at the Escondido Woman’s Club.

In Painting, Best of Show was awarded to Elizabeth Gilby for her work in pastels, and Ayn Bryant for her scene in acrylic.

In Crafts, Best of Show went to Karen Feyler in three categories: Needlework, Crocheting and General Crafts. Debbie Zumwalt received Best of Show for Millinery in the Trash to Treasure event. All Best of Show winners will compete at the State Convention.

First place winners were Phyllis Audiss, Machine Quilting and Photography/Natural History: Shirlee Fagan, Paper Crafts; Sally Vinyard, Knitting; Linda Yatchman, Crocheting; Ayn Bryant, Literature/Poetry; and Betty Gilby, Potrait/Watercolor.

Second place winners were Linda Gregg, Machine Quilting; Sandra Becker, Photography/Scenic; Debbie Zumwalt, General Crafts; Betty Gilby, Still Life/Watercolor, and Scene/Watercolor; Ayn Bryant, Portrait/Acrylic; and Karen Feyler, Photography/Natural History.

Third place winners were Jane Bongiovanni, General Crafts/Painted Jar; Joyce Brazel, General Crafts/Decoupage Box; Linda Yatchman, Knitting; Lois Lee, Crafts/Crochet, and Photography/Natural History; Sandra Becker, Photography/Feature; Karen Feyler, Photography/Scenic; and Ayn Bryant, Still Life/Acrylic.

Honorable Mention winners were Betty Gilby, Literature/Memoir; Ayn Bryant, Literature/Memoir; Sky Littlefield, Photography/Natural History; Lois Lee, Photography/Scenic; and Sandra Becker, Photography/Calendar.
