Student arrested for firearm on school grounds

Deputies from the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department arrested an 18-year-old male student on April 17 at Fallbrook High School.

Tyler Enman, 18, was charged with one count of possession of a firearm on school grounds, said Sgt. Theresa Hydar.

“We have a zero tolerance policy on the possession of any type of firearm or weapon on a school campus,” Hydar said.

The sergeant explained that administrators at the school received an anonymous tip that led to the search of Enman’s vehicle at about 1 p.m. that day.

“A .22 caliber rifle, ammunition and a pellet rifle were found in his trunk,” Hydar said.

Enman, who does not have a prior record, Hydar said, was booked into Vista jail, from which he was later released on bail.

Fallbrook Union High School District spokesperson Peter Fellios said the incident will be handled in accordance with school policy and be referred to the school board for action.
