Seniors to learn about crime prevention, activities, more

FALLBROOK — Sheriff’s Department Crime Prevention Specialist John McLelland will be the featured speaker at the next regular meeting of the Senior Citizens Club on August 12 at 10 a.m. The club will gather in the main meeting room at the center at a new meeting time.

McLelland will be giving seniors hints on how to keep themselves and their homes safe from dangers of all kinds.

There will also be a demonstration of the center’s new Nintendo Wii interactive game that has been purchased. They can learn how to bowl, golf, play baseball and tennis and shoot pool while in the pleasant environment of the cool center. There will also be delicious refreshments prepared by Jean Lockett and a free ticket for lunch that day.

At 12:30, First Vice President Joe Fahey and his wife, Audie, will start the monthly bingo game. Cards are $1 each with no limit. Prizes will be awarded. Refreshments will be served.

The Knit Wits will meet at 10 a.m. to continue their knitting projects for the families of Camp Pendleton servicemen serving overseas. Donations of yarn are always appreciated and can be left at the center office.
