Fallbrook 4-H helps out at SeaWorld Fall Festival

Dylan Kibbett, Sam Kibbett, Malary Greenwood, Emily Kilcrease, Benjamin Matthews and Andrew Matthews, members of Fallbrook 4-H, volunteered at SeaWorld San Diego’s recent Fall Festival.

At the Garden of Discovery, 4-H members, along with park guests, learned how to create some of SeaWorld’s gardening magic in their own backyards.

Activities included children’s crafts, making weather observations and face-to-face encounters with an arctic fox, horned owls, American alligators and Monarch butterflies. There were displays on California-friendly gardens, discovering a garden’s friends and foes and more.

There were fun educational activities for children of all ages. Members learned about local wildlife, learned how to turn their yards into a habitat for wildlife and found out how to conserve water.

Special guests at the festival also included SeaWorld and Busch Gardens Conservation Fund, San Diego Master Gardener and Junior Master Gardener, National Weather Service, Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College, SeaWorld Animals and Trainers and San Diego County Water Authority.
