Students donate gifts for babies

FALLBROOK — Zion Lutheran’s middle school (grades six through eight) students were delighted to participate in a special Christmas service project with the Fallbrook Pregnancy Resource Center (FPRC).

Each class went to an area discount store to purchase gifts for local mothers and babies in need.

With a little help from parent chaperones and teachers, students focused on purchasing necessities such as diapers, wipes, baby lotion, baby baths, blankets, bibs, socks and clothes.

Most students brought enough money to embellish their gift packages with extra gifts such as stuffed animals, toys, jewelry and the like.

After shopping students returned to school to package and gift wrap the items.

FPRC Director Tracee Metten and Ann Niese, FPRC Auxiliary, displayed tears of joy upon seeing all the gifts the students lovingly prepared for the center.
