Sheriff’s detectives have arrested a total of three men in connection with the robbery of a Fallbrook gas station on January 3.
Jordan Segi, 20, of Fallbrook, was arrested January 16 and Simeon Malo, 20, and David Ioane, 19, both of Oceanside, were arrested January 21 on charges of robbery with gang allegations.
Segi, Malo and Ioane all claimed to be members of the Deep Valley Bloods gang in Oceanside.
On January 3 at approximately 1:55 a.m. the three Samoan males arrived at the Mobil gas station located at Interstate 15 and SR76.
While Malo allegedly served as the lookout inside a vehicle, Ioane and Segi entered the mini-market.
Once inside, Ioane allegedly confronted the night clerk in the cashier’s booth and struck him several times, insisting that he open the cash register. When the clerk was unable to open the register, Segi then allegedly entered the booth, stole cigarettes from a display and assisted Ioane in removing the cash register.
Prior to leaving the market, the suspects supposedly took two 18-packs of Coors Light beer from the beverage cooler.
It was reported that when Ioane and Segi took the cash register outside, they smashed it on the ground to get money out of it. It is unknown how much cash was stolen.
The three men then left the premises in their vehicle. The clerk was left with minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
Detective Dan Laibach, with the assistance of the North County gang detectives, investigated the crime. Surveillance tapes from the gas station were reviewed and Oceanside gang detective Gordon Govier recognized one of the members involved.
After matching all three individuals to the crime, detectives served search warrants at their places of residence and made the arrests.
The trio was booked into Vista Jail with bail set at $100,000 each. The case will be prosecuted by the District Attorney’s gang unit.
