Willis Allen Real Estate joins Give Clean Water's recovery efforts for Haiti

SAN DIEGO – At Willis Allen Real Estate, community service isn’t an obligation; it is an essential component of the company culture. Like dominos, it only takes one person’s passion to start a movement that all join and support. Led by CEO and President Andrew E. Nelson, both the agents and staff have a long history of giving their time, talent and resources to worthy causes and they didn’t fall short when it came to the recent crisis in Haiti.

“When I heard the segment about Give Clean Water on the news one night, I was instantly compelled to find a way to send as many purifiers over to Haiti as possible. I spoke to Andy about it the next day and he agreed with me to make this a company-wide fundraiser, being pro-active instead of just sitting back saying how can we help,” said Linda Daniels, a La Jolla Willis Allen Real Estate agent.

Give Clean Water, Inc. is a nonprofit organization that universally provides and installs clean water filters in people’s homes so no matter what type of water they have access to, it will always be sanitary to drink. The small device filters 99.9 percent of contaminates when attached to 5-gallon buckets. In conjunction with Convoy for Hope, Give Clean Water is dedicated to send 3,000 clean water filters to Haiti to assist in their recovery efforts.

“Without the support of the community and companies like Willis Allen we wouldn’t be able to send over the amount of filters we have to the people of Haiti,” said Amanda L. Mineer, President/ Executive Director of Give Clean Water.

In an urgent and timely situation, Willis Allen Real Estate joined together, and in one week donated thousands of dollars, providing approximately 100 water filters.
