FALLBROOK – It’s official, the winners have been selected in the annual essay contest held by Fallbrook Republican Women Federated. After a buffet luncheon on May 14, the scholarship winners, all from Fallbrook High School, will be presented. First place winner Wade Colburn will read his essay and have the honor of taking home the prize of $1000.
The topic for the contest was “The United States Constitution and What it Means to Me. Young Mr. Colburn’s essay was also forwarded to the County Republican Women’s organization for further judging and it came in second place there, receiving another cash prize. The runners-up, Darren Huber and Joshua Metzler, each received a cash prize of $625.
The awards luncheon will be at the Vista Valley Country Club, at 29354 Vista Valley Drive, Vista, on May 14, beginning at 11 a.m. Anyone who would like to join them and/or help contribute can contact Stella Young at (760) 728-2620 or [email protected]. Reservations should be made ASAP.
