Golf tournament to raise funds for humanitarian aid

ESCONDIDO – Rocky Malloy, president of Mission Generation, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing humanitarian aid to the children and families of Bolivia and other South American countries, has announced the group’s first golf tournament to raise funds for this 501(c) 3.

“We are very pleased to have The Vineyard Golf Course in beautiful Escondido as the host for our first fundraiser,” said Malloy.

John Feehan III, a long time Escondido resident and successful businessman will serve as the event coordinator.

The golf tournament offers all golfers a chance to win $50,000 for a hole-in-one and numerous other prizes. Contests will include closest to the pin, fewest putts and most accurate drive. The event will also include a silent auction and more.

The cost per player is $125 with all net proceeds going directly to Mission Generation. Sponsorship opportunities are also available.

Mission Generation has been lending a helping hand to the children and families of Bolivia for nearly 14 years. The success of the Mission Generation is credited to the curriculum that Mission Generation created nearly 15 years ago as a pilot program to assist teachers and parents with reducing teen age pregnancy, diminishing drug use, preventing gang affiliation and other less-than-desirable behaviors.

Most recently, Mission Generation has entered into an agreement with the country of Belize to do for their children and families what they have successfully done for Bolivia for nearly 14 consecutive years.
