Authorities say a Wildomar man in his mid-20s has been arrested in connection with an incident that occurred just before 8 a.m. this morning on Macadamia Drive in Fallbrook.
Darius Lackey, 25, driving a 1998 Toyota Tacoma pickup, "drove through a line of property fences doing a lot of damage," said John Buchanan, public information officer for North County Fire.
California Highway Patrol officer Eric Newbury stated that Lackey hit a fence and malbox on the 1300 block of Banyan Drive, went through a field and drove through more property fences on the 1500 block of Macadamia Dr.
"He then got his truck stuck and couldn't get it out," said Buchanan.
When residents of the area notified authorities what was happening, the Sheriff's department responded and arrested the man. In addition, it was determined that the man needed to be evaluated medically and North County Fire was summoned to transport him to Fallbrook Hospital.
According to California Highway Patrol communication data, it appears that authorities believe the man was under the influence of some type of substance as a blood technician has been dispatched to the hospital to conduct a blood test on the driver.
