Where you go

Some days go not as we have planned,

Sometimes we slip and fall.

We have to learn from our mistakes,

The most proving lesson of all.

Sometimes it’s better to learn alone,

To teach yourself to stand.

So you don’t live your entire life,

Being fed by hand.

When you fall, stand back up,

Get on the road again.

Push yourself and don’t look back,

To places you have been.

Days of hardship soon will pass,

Troubled times will cease.

So stand and finish up life’s race,

And you will be at peace.

Though you may feel your time is up,

And that your strength is gone;

You can push yourself to go,

Your mind controls how strong.

Your heart’s the key to your success.

Your mind must conceive,

You must believe in yourself,

And you will achieve.

You’re only as good as you make yourself,

No one else can try.

You have to finish your own race,

And I must finish mine.

Last of all, the most important,

Something you must know:

It doesn’t matter where you’ve been,

It matters where you go.
