AAUW members attend state convention

FALLBROOK – The American Association of University Women (AAUW) Fallbrook Branch co-presidents Laurenn Barker and Sherry Ludwig, along with branch board members Diane Gill and Chris Young and branch members Dawn Mitchell and Susan Nelson, attended the AAUW state convention in Irvine from April 8 to 10. The theme of this year’s convention was “Building Bridges Between Our Past, Present and Future.”

All attendees enjoyed the celebration and brought home new ideas for the Fallbrook Branch. The branch is also excited to announce that Ludwig was reelected to the AAUW state board of directors.

AAUW California has a rich 90 year legacy in advancing equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. California has more than 14,000 members in 140 branches from San Diego to Humboldt County.

This is the 65th year of the Fallbrook branch which is ending the year with its largest fundraiser for local scholarships, the spring Garden Tour. The Garden Tour will be held on May 7 and will feature seven beautiful local gardens. All net profits are awarded to high school graduating seniors.
