Local Girl Scouts join 500 Club

FALLBROOK – Out of the almost 300 Girl Scouts in the Fallbrook/Bonsall area, 20 girls joined the 500 Club, some as young as 6 years old. The 500 Club was created to celebrate Girl Scout cookie sales success for all girls selling more than 500 boxes of cookies.

Operation Thin Mint (OTM) is a program through San Diego-Imperial Council Girl Scouts that allows the girls to collect the cost of a box of cookies and then send the boxes overseas to the military troops. The sendoff celebration will take place at the USS Midway in San Diego on May 7. The top sellers in this program were Emma Kingdon, 250 boxes; Sydney Hassell, 242 boxes; Sarah Ward, 154 boxes; Kylie Pato, 103 boxes; and Bridget Bresnahan, 100 boxes.
