Bonsallpalooza 2011 student art contest winners announced

BONSALL – The Bonsall Education Foundation (BEF) is pleased to announce the winners of the Bonsallpalooza student art contest in which students were told, “Think Music! Think Arts!” to be represented in black ink on white letter sized paper. The first place winner is Taylor Hall, a seventh grader from Sullivan Middle School; the second place winner is Andrew Akman, an eighth grader from Sullivan Middle School; and the third place winner is Jessica Tafoya, a fifth grader from Vivian Banks Charter School.

“One of the best parts of being involved in an organization that helps fund school music and arts programs is to actually witness the creative endeavors of the students, themselves,” said Erica Perko, president of BEF. “The kids get so excited to see their artwork in action, beyond just being hung up on school bulletin boards and home refrigerators. The winners’ representations of what music means to them will be printed on flyers, posters and t-shirts publicizing Bonsallpalooza, the event that will fund next year’s music programs.”
