Ragland receives Artissimo award

SAN DIEGO – On May 12, the San Diego Chapter of the California Art Education Association (SDCAEA) held its first Artissimo awards celebration at the San Diego County Office of Education. Among the 16 award recipients was Marilee Ragland of Fallbrook who teaches children’s art classes at the Fallbrook School of the Arts.

Ragland was presented with the award by Karen Childress-Evans, visual and performing arts (VAPA) director for the San Diego Unified School District and Ron Jessee, VAPA coordinator for the San Diego County Office of Education.

Ragland was acknowledged for her excellence in teaching visual arts to young people now and throughout her professional career as a teacher in the Fallbrook Union Elementary School District.
