Bible school visits Sesame Street

FALLBROOK – Some of the group leaders at Christ the King Lutheran Church (CTK) decided to dress up as Sesame Street characters for opening night, July 25, at vacation Bible school (VBS). CTK kicked off their 2011 VBS by greeting and signing up over 100 kids. Their theme this year was “Main Street Parables,” which told all about how Jesus turned people’s lives upside down and inside out through parables that challenged them to look at themselves and others in new ways.

As always, the kids enjoyed bible stories, skits and plays, crafts, snacks, and rollicking sing-along songs with lots of moving and dance steps. And while the kids enjoyed themselves, Pastor Mark Johnson taught an adult class on the parables of Jesus that coincided with the VBS theme.
