Mosaic created for St. John's Episcopal

FALLBROOK - Fallbrook mosaic artist Mike McCormick created a mosaic that will adorn the front of St. John’s Episcopal Church, located at 434 N. Iowa Street.

Working from an existing illustration by Ellen Mykkanen, McCormick created a 3-foot x 5-foot mosaic that will adorn the front of the church and welcome the parish community.

McCormick created the mosaic for St. John’s using hundreds of hand-glazed ceramic tiles, kiln-fired in his Fallbrook studio.

McCormick serves as a board member of the Fallbrook Art Association and has shown his work in Fallbrook at the Brandon Gallery and the Fallbrook Art Center and in galleries throughout Southern California.

The unveiling and dedication of the new mosaic will be held Sunday, Sept. 4, following the 10 a.m. service. A reception will follow in Duddington Hall. All are welcome.
