AAUW has successful open house

FALLBROOK “ Over 35 people enjoyed the Open House hosted by the Fallbrook Branch of the American Association of University (AAUW) Women recently. Hosted by Maria Wolownick with the assistance of co-hostesses, Dawn Mitchell and Diane Gill, the event welcomed guests, new members and continuing members.

Co-President Sherry Ludwig outlined some of the programs slated for the year including AVID mentoring with Fallbrook High School students, the International Outreach program as well as several annual fundraising and social events.

The highlight of the morning brunch was a skit presented by members of the Fallbrook Women's Club called œSherla Combs and the Case of the Great Jewel Robberies, wherein all the guests have been victims of a jewel robbery. Great fun and intriguing characterizations were provided by the aspiring actresses from the Women's Club.

The Fallbrook Branch of AAUW welcomes new members interested in advancement and equity for women and girls through advocacy and breaking through educational and economic barriers. Those who are interested in joining may contact membership treasurer Christine King, (760) 723-6911, or visit aauwfallbrookca.org.
