Straub Construction awarded $46.6 million Navy contract

SAN DIEGO - Straub-Driver Construction of Fallbrook was awarded $46.6 million to build a truck operations complex at Camp Pendleton, and $17 million was awarded to Northrup Grumman Systems of San Diego for a weapons system for the MQ-8B Fire Scout unmanned aerial vehicle.

Five other San Diego County-based construction firms were awarded a contract today worth $500,000 combined to build or remodel various facilities throughout Navy Facilities Engineering Command Southwest.

I.E.-Pacific, NEI Contracting and Engineering and Dimensions Construction, all of San Diego; Bilbro Construction Co. of Escondido, and Pacific West Builders of National City will share the work, the majority of which will be performed within California.

The companies will construct or renovate offices, recreational facilities, child care centers and medical buildings, according to the Navy.
